The LPG was set up by Weston Digital Imaging in 2006 to accommodate students who
had attended the the basic digital photography course at the Wilmslow Guild. Since
then the group has grown into around fifty active members whose enthusiasm and love
of photography have given rise to a group of photographers wanting to expand their
knowledge and creativity in the world of imaging, yet break away from the traditional
camera club.
Unlike other photographic groups the LPG does not hold competitions; instead its
aim is to work, through photographic briefs, practical, demonstrations and to give
an insight to the history of photography from Henry Fox Talbot to Sally Mann. Each
year the Lindow Photographic Group works towards exhibitions and community projects
Currently there are 3 groups, the Intermediate and Advanced groups meeting twice
a month (see Timetable for dates on the website) between 7:30 & 9:30pm with lectures
covering everything from Photoshop to visiting Photographers. The 'Lindow 10' & 'Lindow
11' groups now meet together on a Thursday evening where they are working towards
the Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society.
